I'm still subscribed to the Core or Business plan. Can I change to the new Individual or Professional plan?
A Core plan can be changed to either the Individual plan or Professional plan. A Business plan can only be changed to the Professional plan. To change your plan, visit your billing page and click the Show plan upgrade options... button.
Can I change back to my old Core or Business plan after I change to the new Individual or Professional plan?
No, this is not possible.
Why don't the current plans include options to choose between Public Gallery, Premium (Use Flat-rate Payment) and Premium (Use Asset Storage) like the legacy plans did?
The Legacy plans (Core and Business) allowed a choice between one of the the following usage types after uploading an asset:
- Public Gallery
- Premium (Use Flat-rate Payment)
- Premium (Use Asset Storage)
Although this approach had certain benefits, feedback from current and prospective customers indicated that it was considered too complicated to use and understand.
The current plans use "Premium (Use asset storage)" for every asset upon upload, and all assets have premium features. For more information on how asset storage works with the current plans, please see Help Article: Asset Storage Overview.
With an Individual or Professional plan, will I be able to set up a Public Gallery Asset and exclude it from my asset storage usage like I can with my Core or Business plan?
This is not possible with the current plans. Any assets you upload after switching to a current plan will count towards your asset storage. However, the current plans still support the Show on Public Homepage setting, allowing you to display selected assets on your public homepage in the same way as Public Gallery Assets (Learn More). All of the new plans include at least double the storage than the legacy plans. Additionally, upgraded storage is now doubled at the same price.
What will happen to my existing Public Gallery assets if I change to an Individual or Professional plan?
The Professional plan does not include support for Gallery assets. Upon upgrading to the Professional plan, your existing Gallery assets will use asset storage and will gain access to all premium asset features (e.g., measurements, PDF reports, embedding, custom branding, Inspection links, etc.). These assets will still be displayed on your public homepage for others to discover and view. After the upgrade, you can choose to list or delist any asset using the Show on Public Homepage setting (Learn More).
What will happen to my existing Premium flat-rate assets when I change to an Individual or Professional plan?
After switching to the Professional plan, your existing Premium flat-rate assets will not count towards your asset storage and will not increase the cost of your new plan. These assets are essentially "grandfathered in" under your new Individual or Professional plan.
Can I purchase new Premium flat-rate assets after changing to an Individual or Professional plan?
The current plans do not support creating new Premium flat-rate assets. All assets that you upload after upgrading to a current plan will use asset storage.
I really liked purchasing Premium flat-rate assets. Why is flat-rate not available with the current plans?
We understand that a one-time payment for an asset was convenient, but it also came with significant limitations. Flat-rate assets restricted you from uploading additional files to an existing asset. This meant that you couldn’t, for example, upload even a single photo or replace an orthomosaic to an existing flat-rate asset. This limitation resulted in frequent support emails like:
- "I forgot to preview my asset to be sure it was working correctly before upgrading it to flat-rate. Can I upload a new model and replace the one I already paid for?"
- "How can I upload a few more photos to an existing flat-rate asset?"
Unfortunately, these emails resulted in time consuming emails or meetings to resolve these issues. Additionally, we received frequent requests to schedule meetings to clarify the various asset types: Preview, Gallery, Premium, and Flat-rate. It was too complex.
To simplify the process for everyone, we’ve removed the specification of asset types. Now, all assets are treated as "Premium" -- though we no longer use that label since every asset has the same capabilities. With the current plans, you can upload data to an existing asset at any time and choose whichever features you want.
To help reduce your storage costs, we’ve also increased the included storage pools -- twice as much for triangles, 2.5 times more for textures, and 10 times more for photos -- while also cutting the cost of storage upgrades by half. In the future, we’ll implement a system that lets you “expire” assets based on specific time intervals that you can specify when uploading an asset. "Expired" assets will automatically free up storage space and should help you more effectively manage, estimate, and budget your storage costs. Please follow this help article to be notified when the "expire" option becomes available.
